Projector installation at Wexham Park Hospital makes it easier for multi-disciplinary teams to discuss patient cases
An EH505 projector has been installed at Wexham Park Hospital, making it easier for experts in pathology, oncology and radiology to come together and discuss patient cases.
Saville AV installed the high-resolution Optoma equipment, which includes the special medical DICOM simulation mode. It is helping the multi-disciplinary team to view clear, bright images from its PACS, enabling experts to discuss cases together.
The hospital needed a replacement projector for its fairly bright, multi-disciplinary team room where specialists from a range of disciplines, such as pathology, oncology and radiology, meet to discuss patient cases. It needed to present the images from the PACS to the whole multi-disciplinary team so that all staff can see and discuss the cases together. The projector needed to be cost-effective and high resolution with flexible lens options to ensure flexibility in installation.
“We recommended the Optoma EH505 due to its brightness, resolution and DICOM simulation mode - ideal for viewing X-rays and scans,” said Danny Quay, Saville’s audio visual account manager.
“Its dust-sealed, filter-free design prevents dust from affecting the system ensuring optimal image quality with minimal maintenance. Reliability was a key factor in our recommending this model.
Saville Audio Visual recommended and installed the Optoma EH505.This 5,000-lumen projector with WUXGA resolution and powerful image blending tools delivers spectacular image quality and outstanding brightness.
The EH505 includes a special DICOM simulation mode that has been specifically tuned for viewing greyscale images, X-rays and scans.
The zoom, lens shift and interchangeable lenses ensured that installation was straightforward, enabling the hospital to use the existing ceiling fixings.
“We needed a bright and reliable projector that would need minimal maintenance,” said Yinka Onifade, picture archiving and communication systems manager at Wexham Park Hospital.
“I used Optoma projectors in my previous job at Guy’s Hospital and knew they are of a good quality and robust. This projector is just what we wanted. The multi-disciplinary team is impressed with the clarity of the images, which has helped to make their job easier. It is money well spent.”
